Stokancil Privacy Policy

Stokancil is an offline point-of-sale and stock app for small shops. It keeps everything you enter on your own device and sends none of it anywhere.

The short version. Stokancil collects nothing, transmits nothing and contains no analytics, advertising or tracking. It has no user accounts and no server. The app does not request internet access at all, so your sales, stock and shop details cannot leave your device except when you deliberately share or export them yourself.

This policy covers the Stokancil Android application distributed through Google Play. It does not cover any other app or service.

What We Collect

Nothing. Stokancil has no servers, no accounts and no sign-in. We — the developer — receive no personal information, no usage statistics, no crash reports, no device identifiers and no shop data of any kind. There is no data for us to sell, share or lose, because none of it ever reaches us.

The app does not declare the Android INTERNET permission. Android enforces this at the operating-system level: an app without that permission cannot open a network connection, so there is no route by which your data could be transmitted, whether intentionally or by accident.

What Stays on Your Device

Everything you enter is written to a private database in the app's own storage area, which other apps cannot read. That includes:

Stock items, categories, descriptions, prices, quantities and SKUs
Sales, sale lines, discounts, tax settings and payment method
Stock adjustments, stocktake corrections and their notes
Shop details you enter for the receipt — name, address, contact line and footer text
Your settings, including the printer you selected and any logo image you chose

None of this is analysed, indexed or uploaded. Uninstalling the app removes it.

Permissions and Why They Exist

Permission	What it is used for
Bluetooth	To list the thermal printers you have already paired in Android's own settings, and to send receipt and label data to the one you chose. The app never scans for or discovers nearby devices, and Bluetooth is never used to determine location.
Camera	To read a QR code or barcode when you tap a scan button. Frames are decoded on the device as they arrive; no photo or video is recorded, stored or sent. The camera is active only while a scanner screen is open.
USB	Granted per device by Android when you attach a printer, and used only to send print data to it. No other USB device is accessed.

When Data Leaves Your Device

Only when you choose to move it, and only to a destination you pick:

Printing. Receipt and label data goes to your printer over Bluetooth or USB — a direct connection between the two devices, not a network.
Sharing a receipt. Using the share action hands a receipt PDF to whichever app you select from the Android share sheet. What that app then does with it is governed by that app's own privacy policy.
Backups and CSV export. Creating a backup or exporting stock writes a file to the location you choose. If you save it to a cloud folder, that provider's terms apply to the file from that point on.
Android system backup. Android may include the app's data in the automatic backup of your phone to your own Google account, in line with your device's backup settings. That copy belongs to you and your Google account; we have no access to it. You can turn this off in your device's backup settings.

Third Parties

Stokancil contains no advertising networks, no analytics providers and no crash-reporting services. Its barcode scanning uses an open-source library that runs entirely on the device and makes no network requests.

Google Play handles distribution, and Google collects its own installation and device statistics as part of running the store. That is covered by Google's privacy policy, not by this one, and we see only anonymous aggregate figures in the Play Console.

Children

Stokancil is a business tool for shop owners and staff. It is not directed at children and is not intended for anyone under 18. It collects no information from anyone, of any age.

Your Data and Your Rights

Because your data never leaves your device, you already hold the only copy. There is no account to close and no server-side record to request, correct or erase.

To export it: use the backup or CSV export in the app's settings.
To delete it: uninstall the app, or clear its storage from Android's app settings. Either removes the database permanently. Backup files you created yourself are yours to delete separately.

Changes to This Policy

If a future version of Stokancil adds a feature that sends data anywhere — optional multi-device sync, for example — this policy will be updated to describe exactly what is sent and why, and the change will be published here before that version is released. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
