Kaskucing Privacy Policy

Kaskucing is an offline daily cash book for Android. It keeps everything you enter on your own device and sends none of it anywhere.

The short version. Kaskucing collects nothing, transmits nothing and contains no analytics, advertising or tracking. It has no user accounts and no server. The app does not request internet access at all, so your income, your spending and your balances cannot leave your device except when you deliberately export or share them yourself.

This policy covers the Kaskucing Android application distributed through Google Play. It does not cover any other app or service.

What We Collect

Nothing. Kaskucing has no servers, no accounts and no sign-in. We — the developer — receive no personal information, no usage statistics, no crash reports, no device identifiers and no financial data of any kind. There is no data for us to sell, share or lose, because none of it ever reaches us.

The app does not declare the Android INTERNET permission. Android enforces this at the operating-system level: an app without that permission cannot open a network connection, so there is no route by which your data could be transmitted, whether intentionally or by accident. The release build is checked for this automatically and fails if any library adds the permission.

What Stays on Your Device

Everything you enter is written to a private database in the app's own storage area, which other apps cannot read. That includes:

Transactions — amount, date, type, wallet, category and any note you wrote
Wallets, their type, their opening balance and their current balance
Categories you use or create, and the order they appear in
Your monthly income figures, budget ceilings and how you divided them
Recurring rules, and the record of which occurrences have already been posted
Your settings — language, theme, currency, first day of the month and week

None of this is analysed, indexed or uploaded. Uninstalling the app removes it.

Permissions and Why They Exist

Permission	What it is used for
Notifications	To tell you when a budget group passes 80% or 100% of its ceiling. On Android 13 and later this is asked for only when you first switch a budget alert on, and declining it costs you nothing else — the same warning is always shown on the budget card itself. It is the only permission the app requests.

Kaskucing asks for no camera, no contacts, no location, no storage and no SMS access. In particular it never reads your messages: bank and e-wallet notifications are not scanned, and every figure in the app is one you entered yourself.

When Data Leaves Your Device

Only when you choose to move it, and only to a destination you pick:

Backups and CSV export. Creating a backup or exporting your transactions writes a file to the location you choose through Android's own file picker. If you save it to a cloud folder, that provider's terms apply to the file from that point on.
Sharing a backup. Using the share action hands the backup file to whichever app you select from the Android share sheet — WhatsApp, Drive, email. The receiving app is granted access to that one file and to nothing else in the app's storage. What it then does with the file is governed by that app's own privacy policy.

Android's automatic cloud backup is switched off for this app. Your ledger is deliberately excluded from Google's device backup and from Android's device-to-device transfer, so a copy of your finances is never placed in your Google account without your asking. Your own export is the only supported way the data moves — which also means that if you reset the phone without exporting first, the data is gone.

Third Parties

Kaskucing contains no advertising networks, no analytics providers and no crash-reporting services. Every library it uses runs entirely on the device, and none of them can reach the network: the app has no permission to give them.

Google Play handles distribution, and Google collects its own installation and device statistics as part of running the store. That is covered by Google's privacy policy, not by this one, and we see only anonymous aggregate figures in the Play Console.

Children

Kaskucing is a personal record-keeping tool and is not directed at children. It collects no information from anyone, of any age, and shows no advertising.

Your Data and Your Rights

Because your data never leaves your device, you already hold the only copy. There is no account to close and no server-side record to request, correct or erase.

To export it: use the backup or CSV export in the app's settings. The backup is a plain JSON file and the export is a plain CSV, both readable without Kaskucing installed.
To delete it: wipe all data from the app's settings, behind a double confirmation — or uninstall the app, or clear its storage from Android's app settings. Each removes the database permanently. Backup files you created yourself are yours to delete separately.

Changes to This Policy

If a future version of Kaskucing adds a feature that sends data anywhere — optional multi-device sync, for example — this policy will be updated to describe exactly what is sent and why, and the change will be published here before that version is released. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
